Amantadine Hydrochloride Tablets 100 mg Amdatime 100 is a medication primarily used to treat Parkinson's disease and Parkinson-like symptoms caused by certain medications. It belongs to a class of medications known as antiviral and dopaminergic agents. Originally developed as an antiviral medication to treat influenza A, Amdatime 100 was later found to have beneficial effects in Parkinson's disease. Its exact mechanism of action in Parkinson's disease is not fully understood, but it is believed to increase the release of dopamine and block the reuptake of dopamine, helping to restore balance in the brain's neurotransmitter systems. Amdatime 100 may be prescribed alone or in combination with other medications used to treat Parkinson's disease, such as levodopa/carbidopa. It can help improve symptoms such as tremor, rigidity, and bradykinesia (slowness of movement). It may also be used to manage dyskinesias (involuntary movements) associated with long-term use of levodopa therapy.
