Mechanism of Action
TICAGROWN prevents blood clots by reversibly binding to the P2Y12 receptor on platelets. This action inhibits the ADP (adenosine diphosphate) mediated activation of the GPIIb/IIIa receptor complex, thereby reducing platelet aggregation. Unlike other antiplatelet agents like clopidogrel, TICAGROWN does not require metabolic activation to exert its effects, leading to a more rapid and consistent antiplatelet action.
Indications
Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS): TICAGROWN is indicated for patients with ACS, which includes conditions such as unstable angina (UA), non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI), and ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). It is often used in combination with aspirin.
Secondary Prevention of Thrombotic Events: For patients who have had a previous myocardial infarction, TICAGROWN , in combination with aspirin, can be used to reduce the risk of further heart attacks, strokes, and death from a cardiovascular cause.
