Apixaban (2.5mg)
APIXAZEN is an oral anticoagulant that is part of a class of drugs known as direct factor Xa inhibitors. APIXAZEN is used to prevent and treat thromboembolic disorders, such as venous thromboembolism (VTE) which includes deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE), and to prevent stroke and systemic embolism in people with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (AF).APIXAZEN works by selectively inhibiting factor Xa, an enzyme crucial to the blood clotting process. By inhibiting factor Xa, apixaban reduces the generation of thrombin, thereby preventing clot formation without directly affecting platelet aggregation. This mode of action helps reduce the risk of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation and treats and prevents DVT and PE.
APIXAZEN is taken orally, with or without food, typically twice a day. The dosage may vary based on the indication, kidney function, body weight, and other factors such as the concurrent use of certain medications. For further information please contact:
