OLMISTRUM CH 20
Olmesartan (20mg), Chlorthalidone (12.5mg)
OLMISTRUM CH is used for the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension). OLMISTRUM CH leverages the complementary mechanisms of action provided by each medication to more effectively lower blood pressure than either medication alone, potentially reducing the risk of cardiovascular events such as strokes and heart attacks.
Olmesartan
Olmesartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It works by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a chemical in your body that causes blood vessels to tighten and narrow. By inhibiting angiotensin II, Olmesartan allows blood vessels to relax and widen, which lowers blood pressure.
Chlorthalidone
Chlorthalidone is a thiazide-like diuretic, also known as a water pill. It helps reduce blood pressure by removing excess salt and water from the body through urine, which decreases blood volume and reduces arterial resistance. Unlike traditional thiazide diuretics, Chlorthalidone has a longer duration of action and may be more effective in lowering blood pressure.
